Overhead Low Height Clearance Signage
Prevent overhead structural damage to parking and overhang structures.
Parking garages with damage to their entrances or interior supporting beams and a truck camper knocking down a bank drive-thru canopy can be very costly and even life-threatening. The good news is that the risk of this type of accident can be greatly reduced with low height clearance bars.
Your parking garage has an entrance height of 8' 11" inches, but, where the ramp inclines, the maximum possible clearance is only 8' 5". A customer with a truck with a height of 8' 7" drives into the garage. He thinks he's clear because he was able to drive through the entrance.
As he starts up the incline to the first level, the vehicle becomes wedged. He tries to reverse out, but is stuck tight. Garage entrance traffic comes to a standstill, causing losses in revenue.
Eventually, the truck is able to be backed out by letting most of the air out of the tires. The cement in the beam is now cracked and, if not repaired, continues to crumble well after the accident, compromising its strength.
This accident can be avoided with clearance signage at the entrance.
Low Clearance Height I-Bar
The bar is a bright safety yellow with reflective black vinyl letters, and it hangs at the lowest height within the garage. With this maximum height indication in place at the entrance, if the truck's driver were to ignore the warning sign, the bump caused by the impact of the large aluminum beam against his roof would cause him to stop and back out before costly damage is done to the building, preventing losses in revenue and expensive repairs.
Low Clearance Height Signs
We provide lighted signs with LEDs for maximum visibility or panel wall-mounted signs that can be designed to go with the decor. Either can be mounted to a canopy or entrance with custom lettering, indicating the maximum clearance.
