Signal-Tech’s variable message signs, part of the Smart Sign Rebel Display Series, are outdoor LED programmable displays for parking facilities. These signs are ideal for displaying changeable parking rates, promoting special events, and providing directional parking instructions. Installing these facilities in parking garages and lots gives the facility the flexibility to pre-program fixed messages or schedule an unlimited number of messages.
These signs feature an extruded aluminum frame, a hinged-faced cabinet, and a contrast-enhancing polycarbonate face to reduce glare and enhance message readability. Combined with a conformal coating to protect electronics from harsh weather conditions, these signs are the ideal solution for outdoor, programmable LED signage.
Signal-Tech's proprietary sign control software is used to program, schedule, and control its variable message signs. Within the software is an Administrative Tool (Admin Tool) that allows designated users to create messages, set up a messaging schedule, and generate messaging playlists. The Admin Tool also will enable users to authorize Web Interface users of the software to monitor and override scheduled messages remotely.
Messages are created with the software’s Admin Tool using a pre-loaded character set and library of arrows and symbols. Date and Time can also be displayed in multiple formats. The scheduling process is simplified by allowing messages to be scheduled for seven-day periods. This weekly schedule loops until permanently altered, interrupted with a temporary adjustment such as a holiday schedule, or temporarily overridden through the Web Interface.
Minimum technology requirements must be met for both our variable message signs and the Smart Sign Software to work as a coherent solution. The sign must have a 110 – 240 VAC input power connection at each sign and a wired Ethernet connection at each sign. Further, these signs require a static IP lease on a DHCP-enabled network.
The computer that hosts the Sign Control Software must also meet a few requirements. First, the computer must be server-grade with power backup running Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 or higher. The server-grade computer must have 8GB RAM and 128 GB of hard drive space and be Ethernet and DHCP enabled.
